ARADA to develop NEST student complex worth $100 M in Sharjah

A major contract to build NEST, a student housing complex located in Sharjah’s project Aljada was announced on Wednesday

The project is estimated to be build on a total cost of AED 367 million and has been awarded to Intermass Engineering & Contracting Company, which has previously worked Arada’s first project, Aljada and Nasma Residence.

The project is said to have 12 five storey apartments and is scheduled for handover by second quarter of 2022

According to Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, chairman of Arada : “The Nest community fits perfectly with Sharjah’s mission to provide a progressive and all-round educational experience for students from the UAE and around the world.

“This contract award is evidence of our determination to push forward aggressively with construction at Aljada in a safe and secure manner, and I am particularly pleased to see that our project and contractor teams have reached another safety milestone in recent days.

“We have an ambitious programme at this transformational community during the course of 2021 and look forward to delivering an exceptional experience for a new generation of students in Sharjah.”

With an area of 388,000 square foot, it is situated on a walking distance from the education hub of Middle East, University City and is designed with internal patios for residents to relax and meet and greet residents

With different areas allocated for men and women, each block has options of 2, 5 and 8 bed dormitories having laundry rooms, shared TV rooms and study rooms.

Nest’s list of amenities includes an art studio, a music hall, a library, a running track that environments the complex, an amphitheatre and a central dining hall, while tenants will also be provided with access to male- and female-only swimming pools, gyms and study areas.

The Nest contract award follows a busy period of announcements at Aljada, where the first homes in the AED24 billion lifestyle destination were completed in January.

List of major announcements are expected to follow with announcement of The Nest, with the first homes completed in January in the AED 24 billion luxury destination.

Metabo

Benefits: Excellent quality, reliability and life, Metabo continuously innovates to take the lead in the world of cordless power tools.

Downsides: Less visibility in market compared to popular brands and not as much of range for selection of tools.

Overall: Metabo is a industry leader in innovation of cordless range and has been increasing its presence steadily. It has an extensive range of cordless tool in 18V and has a good presence in Europe, thou number of power tools have been launched in USA as well.

Metabo is on a mission to achieve goal of cordless job sites and have been successful in achieving it.

Notable Products: Known for its grinders, Its range of drilling and fastening tools are also competitive with other popular brands. Few unique cordless tools for fabrication and metal working industries, makes them stand out from other power tool companies.

Bosch

Benefits: Great performance and steadfastness.

Downsides: Bosch lacks behind its competitors in USA and have failed to launch products on time or have never been launched has launched in Europe.

Overall: Bosch has excellent tools but their range of cordless tools are not as competitive as other brands. They have made great releases in the past, but there are less reasons to buy into Bosch’s cordless range as of today.

Notable Products: Inductive battery charging system, select drills with anti-kickback protection, hybrid impact driver/wrench “FREAK” tools.

Dewalt

Benefits: Superior tools, wide range , easy to handle and reliability. Dewalt has expanded into the range of their 20V Max cordless power tools as well as their FlexVolt lineup. Along with this, they have continuously developing their 12V Xtreme Subcompact range

Downsides: Dewalt has a small range of tools for Automotive Industry. Their 12V range is average, but their seem to be working on it.

It is difficult to select their core competence products. For example,you can now select between 20V Max brushless, 20V Max Power Detect, FlexVolt 60V Max, and 20V Max FlexVolt advantage saws.

Overall:

Dewalt has enjoyed a reputation of strong brand value and has been know for introducing lot of innovative machines to the industry. They are not in race to catch up and have been innovating power tools and breaking barriers.

Dewalt users cannot go wrong their choice and have lot of strengthens with few weaknesses. Dewalt is one of the key players in Cordless industry and in fierce competition with other brands.

 

Notable Products: It’s exciting that Power Detect and FlexVolt Advantage lines are closing the gap between 20V Max and FlexVolt 60V Max platforms. Even so, FlexVolt still provides a power benefit that most other 18V/20V Max systems struggle to match.

Gearwrench Double X Plier has been a great tool and innovation in industry. It has been on buy list for many DIY users, thou it is not an everyday use tool, it certainly deserves a place in one’s tool box

Yes, you compromise on a little bit of accuracy and the pliers are bit bulky, has it has more metal due to the long-extended legs.

These pliers are not suited for all jobs, the shorter legs plier can be more helpful in close up task where space is in abundance and wider jaw opening is not required. Also,it can be helpful where precision and accuracy is required and gives better grip on parts and material.

These are strength pliers for me, however as said they do prove to be useful. My Double-X forceps have procured their spot in my tool kit. There pliers have been very useful in grabbing lint accumulations from beyond dryers lint trap where Claw grab plier don’t work, narrow vacuum nozzles and even tiny tube style plier and regular pliers don’t work well. For such jobs, these pliers have the reach, precision and narrow profile required to clear things
Similarly, It can be used for multiple jobs for placing machinery and screws or adjusting parts and clips.

At present, the Crescent 2pc set is slightly less expensive than the Gearwrench ones. Which one to buy depends on your handle preference style.
